Best Time of Your Life: Finishing Last in the Philadelphia Marathon, 2011

7:29:37 hour performance

In this performance, I run a marathon with the goal of finishing in last place. A marathon is structured to propel runners through 26.2 miles in the shortest amount of time, and my last place performance both fails to succeed and succeeds to fail. Treating the race and its accompanying rules and rituals as a malleable form, I explore relationships to success and failure, victory and defeat.
